Whether it is by intention or fate alone, you’ve managed to extract this document from a small directory on a mysterious webserver sitting in a cooling rack amongst hundreds of identical web servers somewhere in world (a location that even I do not know). This document, scribbled at a whim, was composed by Scott William Harden. Hopefully this name is familiar to you, but if it is not I hope to make it so. I ran the website ScottIsHot.com for several years, until domain registration complications resulted in its irrecoverable loss. So, in retaliation, frustration, anger, and a little bit of boredom I decided to register a new domain so, at the very least, I will have my own tiny corner of the internet. This is it! SWHarden.com. Is it possible to sum up a person’s life in one paragraph? Absolutely not. Instead of attempting the impossible, I will simply give you a textual snapshot of who I am right now, but in a new paragraph.
I’m in graduate school studying molecular biology and microbiology. Although I used to be helplessly immersed in the world of computers, programming, and silly little hacking projects. I’m getting married this December to Angelina - a girl who thinks my lame jokes are funny and doesn’t mind spending time with me in the laboratory. Although I don’t have the space for it right now, sometime in early 2008 I plan to purchase a 55 gallon aquarium, in which I will grow dense vegetation (with the help of a yeast culture to provide CO2 that can be injected into the tank) to provide a suitable Amazon Stream biotope for housing dwarf gouramis, zebra plecos, large black tetras, and 6 marble freshwater angelfish (with the ultimate goal of breeding the angelfish). Currently I have a 10 gallon tank that is housing ~50 orange and black sailfin mollies that were born a few weeks ago. My fiancé has a 5 gallon fish containing the parents. It’s scary; I’ve spent half of this page talking about my life accomplishments, and the other have completely about fish tanks. I will mention (needlessly) that I have issues with obsessive behavior.
I’m not sure what I will be doing with the outward face of this website. Only time will tell. I needed the website for my personal uses, but most of what I use it for these days is not in view to the public. It’s essentially a convenient briefcase. I put large files in, pull large files out, and I’m happy (and you’re disappointed that you don’t have pretty web pages to read). For the record, yes, I’m the same Scott Harden who wrote over one and a half million words of blog over four years. I don’t really do that anymore though. As proven by the discomfiting and inexplicable, yet undeniably abrupt ending if this page.
