I can’t believe this. I posted every night the last 3 nights and it didn’t show up. It didn’t even save anywhere. It’s lost, completely. I narrowed it down to a problem in the comos date on the server computer. /shrug/ I wrote a TON tonight too. Oh well, I’ll try to re-write the best I can, but it’ll be shorter.

First of all, new layout. I know I know, ‘not another layout!’ you’re thinking, but you don’t understand – a girl said my layout was sexy! actually, (I quote) “your layout is beyond sexy”. Yeah, so, if a human of the female gender likes a layout that I make, it’s worth it. It wasn’t that bad though. I just got a cool logo to smack on the top and the rest is simple tables and css. It took 15 minutes to convert the old css to the new colors, but now it’s all good and I didn’t have to touch much code other than the css files. It’s nice. I’m trying to get rid of the “full news” buttons and have all the news on the front page. I’m unure if I’m going to keep this method or ditch it in a week when I think of something new. New paragraph.

At work I got some cool stuff done today. As of 3 days ago, I started researching microsoft web programming languages. I have this project I’m supposed to do, and it has to be done in microsoft’s asp and .net stuff… I’m not fond of the idea of spending so many hours learning microsoft-only code, but, ya’ know, sometimes you just gotta do what’s req’d. The program is supposed to be a add-on to the software the company I work for already ships. In a nutshell, to access information, the program we ship loggs into a sql database and from there makes unique querys and customized data reports etc. My job is to write this program as a web front-end that uses asp to connect to the sql server to get information into xml then stream it using ado.net technology and from there put it through an xml/xsl stylesheet and then convert it into raw html then feed it back out through the asp. The result will be a fully functional program that can do all the same data retrieval as the program. The advantage is that it can be done via a network, on any computer connected to the server, without any installation. I spent the last 3 days researching and learning asp, vbscript, xml, xsl, and ado crap. Today I wrote some code that looks nice and works nicely. All the really hard work of learning the languages is done, now I just have to modify what I’ve learned and smack it in asp code. Okay, enough. I’ll keep ya’ updated on what happens.

Tomorrow I have a speech. The bad news is it’s 6 minutes long on why the audience should do non-profit volunteer work. The good news is that it’s my last day of my summer classes! woohoo! And not only that, but I had my final exam last week and I know I got a 100% on it! Last week we finished early and the teacher assigned us to 6 person groups and let us work on the test together (open-book too). In 5 minutes my group was done because everyone looked up a few questions and everyone else copied their answers. 5 minutes after we got the test, everyone in my group finished and handed in their paper and walked out the door. I looked at it. I didn’t want to seem mean, but I just thought to myself “these people are nuts, this is the final exam, and they didn’t spend but 5 minutes on it!” After most people left, the class was left with 3 remaining people who shared my views. We worked together and spent 20 minutes looking up every question. You wouldn’t beleive how many questions everyone in my group (but me) got wrong. The teacher graded my test right there so I know I got 100%. The other people in my group (by my guess) will get a D on their final ::blink:: It’s like… helloooo. I said I was going to stay and check the answers and the people in my group looked at me like I was stupid. I want to see what happens tomorrow, when they get their grades back, who will feel stupid, and who will feel good ^_^

cool ‘eh? however as you can tell its not finished. It’s just enough to squeak by though. I’ll finish it up tomorrow night… though I may have company and be unable to. If the tagboard isn’t here, forgive me, I’ll re-add it soon enough =o) meanwhile, comment yout thoughts on this new look!

the problem was that the cmos memory was cleared when I was adding another 60gb hard drive to this machine and it caused the date to reset to 2000 and all my posts went bazerk! fixed now. read up, eh? Nothing a little ” date 07210046″ action couldn’t clear up.
It’s funny… when I tried to post this news I went to www.KnightHacker.com and couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t work. I haven’t had that domain in months ^_^; Anyway, at the moment I’m writing while rendering out a video render in adobe premiere. You see, one of my friends (Holly P.) is getting married and she asked me to make a video slideshow thing of her wedding. I just build a computer for my other friend (Jared R.) and its a lot faster than mine. I’m currently taking advantage of the situation by loading windows 2000 on it and installing adobe premiere so I can use his 1800mhz of processing power to crunch this video editing ^_^; I’m so 3V1L.

While this extra (dual-monitor) computer is in my room I set up another desk. a longdesk. I really like working on it. I want to find some way to use it in my room but… /sigh/ I’m finally out of room. I just now realized how small my room really is compaired to my sisters. Now I’m not complaining, I know lots of people that live with 4 or 5 other sibblings in one room, but when I look at her room its huge! I mentioned it tonight and my parents’ responce was that it had a better view out the window (that has perpetually closed blinds). My sister offered to trade with me, which is an offer I’m strongly considering as long as I know 100% she will not turn back on it. However, there is a problem. Paint. You can see my wall color is a greenish tan color. My sister’s walls are blue and purple. Not quite what I’m going for. It’d require repainting, which is sad, since I only have a small time left in this house before I move out. Is it more trouble than it’s worth? Undecided. I’d have a TON more room in my room if I got rid of my loveseat which I never use. Why do I have it? Well it was going to get given away and I saw it was perfectly nice and a good (leather!) small couch! I grabbed it and moved my room around so I could squeeze-in a spot for it. My plan is to take it with me when I move out =o)

While I was re-arranging my room to accomodate this unexpected furnature piece (about a year ago) I moved my dresser on the opposite wall from the couch and placed a TV on top of it. This was perfect in my eyes: I could sit on the couch and watch anime on the tv. However once I finally hooked everything back up and arranged everything – disaster. My anime is subtitled, and downloaded. It is semi-high resolution. Subtitles are easy to read on monitors with 1600×1200 pixles, but when moved to a tv with 320×240 pixles PLUS natural telivision blur.. subs are impossible to read. (It’s normal RCA video). I do have money these days from getting paid from small jobs and my main job… I’m contemplating purchasing a decent yet inexpensive tv. Size around 25” is my guess. The most important thing to me is that it supports svideo, so I can get twice the vertical resolution and be able to read subtitles and watch anime on tv! You might think “dang, that’s a lot of $ on a tv just for anime!”, but anime is only a sliver of my plan for the tv. Remember what I said earlier about moving out? bingo. When I move out, I’ll want a tv in my new place – might as well buy it now XD Ehh, we’ll see what happens. I can’t think of anything I need and now (as of the last 10 months since I moved my furnature around to use that tv) it’s what I most want =o, We’ll see what happens. Enough of my ranting, I have work tomorrow. I’d best be off. see you later space cowboy

I’m sorry, I broke the news poster ^_^; I haven’t been able to post for about a week! Jeez, well, at least I fixed it (I think, this is a test message). If it works, I’ll post again in a few hours a ‘makeup’ post to fill ya’ in on all the thrilling events of my day to day life.

Get this– remember how I JUST took that horrible drive to NC to drop my sister off at a summer camp? Well luckily she had a plane ticket to come home so I wouldn’t have to do that again… but… it got cancelled… so… yeah, I’m driving back up to NC again*. I’m taking my laptop, some movies, some programming books, and my laptop. I can’t believe I’m doing this again. My hope is to borrow some new programming books from a guy at work.. I was supposed to have them delivered a few hours ago…. but it’s already 10pm they’re not here o.o It really stinks too since I leave at 5 am. I hope tomorrow morning I’ll find them in the garage or someplace that I just overlooked them. It’s going to be a long car ride without something to keep my mind occupied. One of my friends (Holly) is getting married. I have a stack of pictures of her and her soon to be husband, and I’m making a wedding slideshow thingamabob to play at their wedding. I have all the pictures scanned and on my laptop. I just downloaded Adobe Premiere 6.5 (newer version than I’ve used) and I hope to tinker around with it and learn some stuff while doing this slideshow. Soft fades, images changing to the beat of the music, I think it’ll look pretty nice =o) and it’ll take forever to do! … which is perfect, since I’m trying to fill up 20+ hours of MTCIGO. (Man This Car Is Getting Old) Well, I leave in 7 hours, I’d better go to sleep. Goodnight everyone!
