Ok, I know you’re all asking me what the heck this title is about. Just so you don’t keep asking me as I try to write this, I’ll go on and tell you. Studycramming is my little word that means studying a lot of material in a short amount of time. Blog catsup sounds like “blog catch-up” which is a word I made up to represent the way I am going to write a blog tonight that encompasses both yesterday and today. Got it? Ya’ got it.
Check out the new MP3 I put up for you! I put this paragraph near the top because, hey, it gets your attention. I suggest you download it now so you can listen to it as you read tonight’s blog. How cool is that?! The song I chose for the new mp3 is Aiko’s Kabutomushi. This song is pretty cool in my opinion. It’s nice and slow, has a good voice, and seems to express some clean emotion. I like =o) Oh yeah, it’s not on Korean for the kid who asked me. It’s Japanese. The picture is Aiko’s CD. No, I don’t own the cd. I found that pic on google. I don’t even think it’s a legit one, but I’m not sure.
2 new sections have been added to this website! The first one is the ‘devious’ link under the popular category on the left side of my website menu. It contains links to images I found while browsing deviantart pages. At the moment, it’s a simple intro/proceed page followed by an apache directory lister. The image on the right is one I decided to use for the intro page of the deviant art link. I just felt like adding it in this blog because it had some good colors that go really well with this site. The other section I added was the archives section. It’s been there for months, but it was at the very bottom of the page. I added it as a main menu item link and it looks pretty nice. I also cleaned up the archives.php page to make it easier to navigate. I have been blogging for many years, but due to some very unfortunate accidents, I only have crippled remains of scattered posts. /shrug/ I used to ‘blog’ in a text file I stored on a floppy disk. I’d add to it every month or so. I remember doing this back when I had a 486 of a computer running Windows 3.11
That would make me, what, 9? Wow, I really wish I could find that disk, but I know I probably don’t have it anymore. I’m now putting forth a lot of effort to regurlarly backup the things I write. I accurately have blogs that date back to around June of 2003. Accurately as in “I haven’t missed a blog since then”. I have bits and pieces of previous writings, but they’re not worth adding to my current database. I know I somewhere should have back to october 5′th of 2002 (the last BIG server hard drive event) but I can’t for the life of me find the CD I made. Grr. Anyway, there ya’ go, new sections to play with.
ANOTHER SCOTT HARDEN?! You may have noticed the new icon on the left side of my website under the links section that leads to ScottHarden.com. About six months ago, Scott Harden googled for his own name and found my site. We’ve been friends ever since =o) He’s a cool guy. Very nice. His SN is “scott harden” (DOH!) and his website is scott harden too… he’s sure proud of his name. But guess what… his middle name is William! My middle name is William! Oh, that’s not it. He’s also my age (within a few years). And, as if that’s not freaky enough, the guy is in college now too, getting a degree relating to computers. Although, one difference: he actually has a (Asian) girlfriend (non-imaginary) ^_^ But we won’t start on that now…
Color change? Again?! You’re such a girl scott. Well, about the girl part… humm… we’ll get back to that. About the colors, yeah, I changed ‘em. They’re now back to the original colors. Yes, the layout is pretty close to what the friendly kawaiiayu originally sketched out for me when I asked her for help on making a new simple layout. I said it a thousand times, and I’ll say it again: thanks.
link traders are wanted! That’s right, if you have a website I don’t care how many hits you get. I’d be more than happy to add your banner to my site as long as you put my banner on yours. You’ll be getting tons of hits, I’ll be getting some publicity, it all works out.
studycramming. An hour by myself and a few packs of notecards from now, I’ll be ready to take my govornment test =o) This class is awesome. I’d say it’s my hardest class, but it’s the one I have the best grade in. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!? Not only that, history is by far my weakest / worst / most hated subject. The reason I’m doing well and the reason I actually like this class is simple. The teacher is clear when he says what he’s going to test on. He’ll go “This test will be on chapters 3, 14, and 16″, and on the test, it’ll be on chapters 3, 14, and 16! Because I’m able to know what he’s testing on, I’m able to memorize the material and spit it back out on the tests. My average in this class (at the moment, including lowest grade dropped) is a 100%!!! This teacher is nice, dropping the lowest test score. This way, if I have an A in the course when the final comes around, I can attend the final and turn-in an empty test sheet. I’ll get a zero on it, but it’ll be dropped anyway!!! So I’ll get an A in the class! WooHoo! So, to make sure I can have this luxury, I need a just one more good grade on the test this Tuesday. So, the sudycramming begins =o)
I watched Il Mare again today and really liked it this time! Yeah, you may have seen my older posting about it where I didn’t really care for it… I don’t know why I said that. I thought it was beautiful =o) It was really… humm… what word can I use. It was ‘grabbing’. It kinda reached out and got me and started pulling me in. The story is a simple love story about a guy and a girl. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who might see it, but they’re separated by certain phenomena. I seemed to connect pretty well with these two people, because in the movie the creatores purposefully overemphasized the lonelyness of single life in the form of independence. They both lived alone in cool houses, and had some really cool stuff, and seemed to enjoy things by themselves. One of my favorite scenes was when both of them (separately) create a beautiful dinner and eat it by themselves (in their own houses). Seing a guy eat a nice dinner with a glass of whine and a candle on the table, with no one else to accompany him, was really striking for some reason. I dunno, that’s just me. You should check out the movie, it’s pretty interesting ^_-
12 PCs in a dorm room in TX? I don’t think so! As you may know, I’m considering attending a college out in TX. (I’d move there) I know that if I’m staying in one of the (small, 2 person) on-campus dorms, I wont have as much space as I’m used to. The pictures of the dorms that I have seen so far make me weak in the knees. I don’t think I’m going to be able to fit 12 computers and 6 monitors in such a small space /shrug/. Not to mention my nice little couch, tv, and other things I worked for that I use a lot. It’d be a little stupid feeling, having to leave everything behind. Though, I’ve decided, if I do go through with it, I will purchase some things to make it easier. First off, I’m leaving everything behind except for my current laptop and my fastest PC. The PC will not have a monitor. In fact, I think I’m going to mod the case to make it the smallest it can possibly be. (an LCD side-panel would be cool too). It will be my fileserver / workhorse. I’ll do everything through a remote console with this puppy. I’ll take my current laptop, which I’ll use for linux. Then, I’ll purchase a relatively mid-rage and somewhat inexpensive noteboot that I can use that will dual-boot (and vmware?) windows and linux. (I’m using linux figuratively, I might go for BSD in some cases). Why so many? Well, obviously, I have to have at least one computer. This one (the new notebook I’d buy) will do all my school stuff, engineering stuff, windows programming stuff, yadda yadda. It’s the one that’d be req’d for school. The other laptop (my current one now) would be my secondary workstation. It’d run a unix, if course, and do everything else I use it for, from unix programming, to website stuff, to hacking, breaking, cracking, packet decryption, and file leeching. Oops, did I say that outloud? hehe… Anyway, what’s the PC for? Well, everyone knows that laptops fit in your lap. They’re small. The disadvantage is you can’t add that much stuff to them. Fore example: 6 hard drives. I counted up the number of hard drives I have (> 20g) and I think that when I combine a 4 IDE motherboard with a 2 IDE raid card, I could have enough space to work with for a while. I have yet to give thought to the idea of this being my CD bruning machine… but I’m sure i’ll work all that out later. So, yeah, I need to store lots of stuff, and I can’t keep it all on my notebooks. On the other hand, since everything important is on that big bix, I’ll be able to freely erase things on my notebooks without losing important data. cool. So, 2 ‘tops and a pc and a pillow: I’m ready to move to TX ^_-
Well, that about concludes this session of rambelings. If you want to hear more ravings of a lunatic mind, tune in tomorrow. I’m going to be pretty busy, but I’ll try to squeeze enough time to post. Tonight’s post was only a little over 1900 words, not quite 2000. Oh well, who’s counting anyway. (beside me, at least)
Save the whales. ( joke )

One more thing….where in the world do you find that art on Deviant? I’m thinkin that one Cat like one came from Inday Art in the Anthro section!??! I can’t find that kind of art(the pic in the post) anywhere…and that is the cool kind I like! All I ever see are dumb anime drawings of naked girls that people seem to think is cool. doh!!!! |

by the way, phil and tim and all those other people: I have spoken with more people than Titus about the school, but here’s my reasoning on my knowing little. Everyone’s different. I know Titus well enough to roughtly determine how he sees things. Knowing his personality, I can judge the school accurately by the things he says. I’m a little reluctant to breath too much into the words of a total stranger that is supporting his or her school. I greatly like, accept, and appreciate the conversations I’ve had with these people, but no matter what I won’t know what things are like until I’m out there =o) It’s not knowing about the school that bothers me, it’s not knowing what I’m going to be doing -_- If I were going to UCF, sure, great. If I were going to the TX school, sure, great. But being in the middle trying to decide? Now that’s a little unsetteling /shrug/ |

Otherwise, we are doing what campaigns are supposed to do before a debate: lowering expectations. That is difficult in my case, as we are already just where a campaign would want to be. Going for me are, let’s see, age 94, emphysema, arthritis, nearly deaf, no experience debating, didn’t read the newspapers this morning. All that is finally an asset! Love to you all! |
