Oh yeah baby, 4 day weekend, feelin’ good uh huh, uh huh, uh huh. A woman dropped off a load of comptuer crap the other day. I’m not one to use the word crap too much, but crap is a very good definition of the load I got. However, in the crap was gold. I got tons of random stuff, including a broken sound system, some old pcs, and a monitor. Outside, I just glanced at it and guessed it to be 15”. I bent down to pick it up and realized “dude, this is 19 inches!” So, yeah, I lucked out there. To make room for it on my desk, I removed one of my 17′’s and ended up rearranging my desk a little. One of the computers I got was a 450mhz Intel Pentium II XEON pc. I’m thinking of switching over to use it as my server. When I took it apart, I realized it had a multimedia card (with rca in, ant in, ant out, and svideo in!). The sound system is a nice sourround sound system with a sub and all – it wasn’t working. That and there was no power adapter. I decided to tackle this problem. I’ll make a long story short and give you the end result. 5 hours later, I figured out the problem, fixed it, and made a power adapter for it. How’d I do that? Well, I gutted an old computer (tx) power supply and used its 12v lines to power the thing ^_^ So this speaker system runs from a computer power supply! Anyway, it sounds amazing. The little subwhoofer is amazing. It’s fairly small but REALLY clear and strong. Hey, I should show some pics of my new monitor!
And that I did. Pictures of my new monitor, my desk, my room, heck I even got my hallway in there. You can take a look and feel free to email me comments, tips, suggestions, insults, whatever. To view these, click the link on the menu “my room” (see? it’s new) and it’ll tell you more than you ever wanted to know.
What’s this about a bed? Ok, this sounds dumb, I haven’t told anyone my thoughts on the subject because I feel really stupid/embarrassed about it and it looks weird because I just brought it up a few weeks ago. Anyway, I was complaining to myself how much stupid room my gosh darn bed takes up. The thing’s huge! And I sleep on it, what, 4 hours every day?! I could have a lot more space in my room if I didn’t have that bed. When my mom saw my new room layout (recently moved furnature around) she kept on asking “why don’t you…” or “what if you…” (trying to get me to move it a differnet way) I kept on ending up “.. then it will run into the bed.” and kept on saying ” beds are so stupid, especially for me, I live in my room, I go no where else, this is my house, and almost 1/4 of it is a bed. I want to get rid of it! People in Korea sleep on the floor ya’ know”…
…why do I bring this up now? Well, last night, as I was rearranging things and fixing that speaker system, I had parts all over my desk and my bed was COVERED with stuff. It’d have taken me 30 minutes just to move it all to the floor. It was really late and I was really tired, so I grabbed my pillow and threw it by my TV. (view the pic, so you can see what I’m talking about). I then went in the hall closet and got an old bed spread, folded it length wise, and layed it on my wood floor. With it as my bed and a pillow, I slept better last night than I ever have in my bed ^_^ Someone told me sleeping on the floor like that is supposed to be really good for your back… I think I’ll have to research this. I don’t think my parents will be all to happy about me bringing up the idea of moving my bed outta here, but I’m not sure what to do. Tonight, I’m gonna do it again, just to see if it was luck that it was so good last night XD At this point, it really looks like beds (american style) are completely stupid. I’ll have to think of soemething to say though, when/if a parent walks in to see a nice clean bed ready for use, and their teenage son on the floor sleeping. Oh well, I’m out for the night – take a look at that new page! See ya’
